Watchmen: Silk Spectre
One last thought about the Watchmen movie. It is not a bad movie, but it is a disappointing movie. One of the reasons it is disappointing things to me is that the promotional materials for the movie gave me more of what I wanted than the movie did. Just look at the New Frontiersman website. Look at the flickr account and youtube account for the movie. The things on these accounts were brilliant. I hope we get more of this stuff on the DVD

Power Girl
I am not sure if she is the Earth-Two version of Supergirl, the Clone of Supergirl, or the daughter of a Atlantean sorcerer. God, DC has made things complicated at times. It makes my head hurt

Watchmen: Rorschach
I saw the Watchmen movie. It was good, but not great. It was almost too faithful to the graphic novel. I felt it would have been better if it was not so tied to the structure of the graphic novel. I think it would have been better if they told the story in a different order.
I can see why there were changes made moving the graphic novel to move it to the big screen. The problem is that much of the Watchmen is about comics. You cannot make the movie about comics or comic movies. The whole theme in the comic book about Nostalgia perfume not only has to do with how the characters are contently looking back at the past, but also how the whole idea of superheros were an idea started in the past and now out of date. Without those subtle ideas, the movie could not be great.

Hulk Costume
I rarely see Hulk costumes. I think that is interesting to see one here. I wonder if people do not come in costumes of characters who are huge.

My Costume Convention Calender
After Wonder Con I only have two other comic book conventions on my calender for this year. I have Fanime in San Jose May 22th-25th
and Comic Con in San Diego July 23rd-26thI was looking at the Wiki list of Science Fiction conventions. I am trying to figure out where else I should go to take photos of cosplayers. I would like to go to more conventions, but it hard to know which ones I will be able to get good photos. It is also hard to get away some times. Let me know if you think I should go to a specific con.

Top 10 Costumes I want to see at a convention
Wonder Con was the first time I have ever photographed a Creeper Costume. He is not a really well know comic book character, but the average Justice League reader should know who he is. I think it is cool that someone dressed up like him.
This makes me think of the list of characters I would like to see and take photos of:
Black Adam (Captain Marvel)
Hyperion (Squadron Supreme)
Wasp (Avengers)
Martian Manhunter (Justice League)
Rick Deckard (Blade Runner)
Retro Girl (Powers)
Samaritan (Astro City)
Lady Jay (GI Joe)
Nite Owl I (Watchmen)
Lion-O (Thunder Cats)
Man-At-Arms (He-Man)

Wonder Con 2009
Yesterday Kate and I went to Wonder Con 2009. It was packed. There were more people than last year or the year before. Wonder if this is a sign of the economy or not. At $15 a person it can be cheap for a full day of entertainment. I did not go to the Watchmen or Star Trek panel. They were both packed and I do not need any extra convincing to see those movies. I spent my whole day walking the floor and taking photos. That is a pretty good day to me.
